State of Fear was a very entertaining story. It was filled up with a whole lot of suspense and drama. At the beginning of the Book the relationship between the characters George and Nick is pretty darn good. George Morton is a very very rich man who places a lot of the money he makes towards all of their environmental concerns. His charity that he gives to is NERF or the National Environmental Resource Fund. Nick Drake is the head of the NERF organization and is pretty much responsible for all the trouble that goes on in the book. Once John Kenner a know it all who is ready to bring down NERF tells George about all the wrongdoings that are occurring inside of NERF. Almost immediately after that George completely puts a halt to all the funds going into the organization. Right after that George suspiciously disappears. His car was found in a crash but he was nowhere to be found. Was it NERF/Nick Drake? You are supposed to think that he is dead throughout the whole book so now in comes Peter Evans and Sarah Jones. Peter is a lawyer and Sarah is George’s assistant. John Kenner tells them about this situation and takes them on this scary adventure with him. Not only did he take them but he brought along his assistant Sanjong Thapa. Along the way they encounter may obstacles like a 100 mile long iceberg, a flash flood, a hurricane and a tsunami all organized by NERF. While trying to stop the tsunami they run into George who was alive the whole time. In the end they prevent the tsunami go back home as heroes. George starts a new environmental company and elects both Peter and Sarah to run it and surprisingly nothing happens to Nick Drake.

Should the "real world" be worried about a situation like in "State of Fear"

Sometimes I feel that we need to be worried about stuff like this. We are constantly believing everything that the government is telling us like they are going to do this. They are going to fix this. Is it all true? Organizations like the one in the book, which is called "NERF" (The National Environmental Research Fund) are always saying they are going to help the places in need but never live up to the expectations we set for them. In the book NERF pretends to be helping the people and do but have a master plan in set. Do people like Nick Drake really exist? The thought of someone trying to control the American public by creating natural disasters totally goes over my head. Previous to the car crash George and Peter have no idea what is going on. Little did they know they were working in a corrupt system. So my answer to the question is "possibly". I am not saying it will happen but at the same time I do not feel like it could not happen. All we can do as citizens and normal everyday people is hope and trust the government we have.

What is the Meaning to "State of Fear"

"State of Fear" is a griddy book, but very entertaining. The book in my opinion is all about control. And by that I mean the government being able to have control over its citizens. Now obviously they cannot control the people, everyone knows it is a free country, but it is about the people realizing that they are under control. They cannot do anything about it and that is why they are constantly living in a "State of Fear". It is about the government having the American public constantly in that state. The fear that these people constantly are in is fed to them by the government, government corporations, the media, lawyers you name it. The people take this manipulated information that is given to them way out of proportion and that is exactly what the higher up people want to see. It makes them money and starts to make other people realize that they may not be as in control of their livelihood as they thought they were.
